Picking at straws and don't know much about this family so looking for a lead to start.

I found a marrigage record..
Early Vital Records from Gates, NY (1848 - 1850) Marriages

Oct. 20, 1848 Worthington Hagaman(groom-age 28) and Susan Hagaman (bride-age 19). No clue if Susan is a cousin or what her maiden name migh be..

They are also listed on 1850 Westerlo NY census
with dau Mary age 4m.

Can anyone give me a lead to this family??
Would either of them be related to David Hagaman (Hagaman historic home located at Rochester in Monroe County, New York. It was constructed about 1840).

I am working on a Worthington Ely Hagaman and trying to find a connection..

Tks in advance..

You might want to try the town historians in Monroe County. As we recall, and as you pointed out, there was a prominent Hagaman family in Brighton town.

There are numerous Hagaman's listed in the 1818-1897 newspaper index:

You may also want to try the online census indexes for the state census at the web site from the LDS church. And, as you probably already know, the name is sometimes rendered as Hagerman. Go figure.

Maybe these will give you some clues. It's possible that someone was married in Gates in 1848, having come to the area on the Erie Canal, and then went back East.

Abraham HEGEMAN b. c. 6 Jan 1751, Pleasant Valley?, Dutchess Co., NY, m. Rachel Amanda SPRINGSTEAD, b. 8 Apr 1758, NY, (daughter of Isaac SPRINGSTEAD and Prudence HAVENS) d. 29 Jan 1839, Albany Co., NY. Abraham died 13 Jun 1810, Albany Co., NY. Children by Mary (REMSEN?)/Sarah
These brothers had at least one sister mentioned in the 1790 Census. She was Rachel, born 5 Apr 1759 who married, about 1775, Abraham Hagaman and lived in the town of Coeymans until her death, 29 Jan 1839. The farm where she lived is still in the possession of the family, being now owned by her Great Granddaughter, Miss E. A. Hagaman.
