had a reply. I , also, have names of Mary
Caroline's parents and Daniel's, too. Let me know

Hayes is my marrried name so there wouldn't be
a connection to my family. But my husband's
family spelled their name Hays when they lived
in Bedford Co., TN in the early 1800s. My husband's
name is Jimmie, too. I see that Giles Co. is only
one county over from Bedford. So who knows there
may be a connection to his family somewhere.
Are you having as much trouble tracing your
branch of the Hays' as we are?

Here's what info I have on the Hays branch of
my husband's family. His ancestor Peter Hays
was probably born in SC around 1780 and had moved
to Bedford Co., TN in the early 1820s. He died
in that county in the winter of 1834/1835. His
children were Hiram, Elias H., Henry, Jane,
Archibald, Sarah, Christina, Cooper, Mary(Polly),
Nelly, and Mahaly Hays. Most of the family
moved to Western Arkansas by the 1850s. Cooper
was my husband's great-grandfather.
I had 3 gggguncles that married Hays sister
from Madison Co., TN. The uncles lived in Gibson Co.
at the time - the early 1800s. The names of the
sisters were Mary Caroline, Sabrina T. and Sarah
Hays. I think their parents were Andrew T. Hays and
Susannah Enoch. All 3 of the households were in
Arkansas by 1850 (Yell Co.)
If you do get in contact with the person that
has info on your Nathanial Hays let me know.
Good luck.
I was born in Arkansas but my father moved
us out to California in 1947.

Do you know the names of Mary Caroline Hays'
parents? I am trying to connect them with my
husband's ancestors. When his family lived in
Tennessee during the early 1800s their name was
spelled HAYS and then when they relocated in
Arkansas most of the family spelled their name
HAYES. Any information would be appreciated.
