Perhaps there's a link here (with a couple of centuries between): my great-grandfather was William Seeley, (1850-1925), born in Coventry, Warwickshire. Son of Joseph & Maria Seeley, the family moved to Lancashire, then emigrated in 1863 to Passaic County, New Jersey. William was in silk weaving (ribbon).

My husband is working on his family the Seeleys, who were originally from Birmingham,Warwickshire.
George Seeley married Sophia Savage about 1843, children included George, Georgianna, Henry, & Sophia. In 1881 they were at Albion St., Yardley, Worcester,. Henry married Elizabeth Webb.
The family is also listed in the 1851 Census.
Any help would be appreciated

I have a great grandfather named WIlliam Seeley, and one of his sons(my grandfather) is Robert Seeley. They lived in WIsconsin. I'm not sure if they are the same ones you are talking about. Robert and William are very popular names in this family name....
