Looking for any information on an old cemetery located in Drammen Township, Eau Claire County. The location is on the SW corner at the intersection of Pine Rd. and Oak Rd. (N44 38.59', W91 33.24'). It is very small with only a couple of illegible markers. There may be other markers missing. Ultimate desire is to find out who is buried there as I have reason to believe my g-g-grandparents may be there. Thanks in advance for any information. -Steve

Steve I am familar with the cemetery. Have you been there to see it? Are you from this area? I could go to the Cemetery and see what names are on the markers.

Loraine, Thank you for the reply. I am from Eau Claire and did have a chance to visit the cemetery over the weekend. What I now know of the cemetery: It is identified with a sign reading "Drammen Cemetery". Markers present are Olson, Simonson, and Syverson. One additional marker is broken and weathered to where the wording is completely gone. What I remain hopeful to learn: Who that last marker identifies and are there additional, unmarked burials present. -Steve

I'm also from Eau Claire, but haven't lived there in 20 years. Do you have any other information on who is buried in this cemetery? I'm looking for the Simonson's in Drammen township.

my greatgreatgrandfather and his wife:

Ole Simonson Scheie b. about 1814
Betsy/Beret (Anderson) Simonson b. abt 1827

their daughter and her husband:

Anna C. (Simonson)Simonson b. 1866
Ole W. Simonson b. 1857

Any help would be great. What family names are you looking for in Drammen township. I have several - Simonson, Pederson, Holt, Halvorson, Isaacson, Larson, Olson, Borgwardt.

have a great day!

Surnames: Johnson, Forbord

I just came across your post on this thread. I guess I'm a bit slow (like 7+ years).

I'm looking for the burial location of my GGGrantparents:

Ole Forbord Johnson 1832-89
Pettrine Johnson 1842-1936

Several of their children were involved with the Drammen Lutheran Church and are buried in the DLC cemetery. In addition to finding no record of their burial there, the death of Ole appears to pre-date the DLC cemetery.

The family farm was/is located in close proximity to the township cemetery. I tend to believe Ole was buried there and that Pettrine joined him when she passed many years later.

I see you have an interest in HALVORSON in Eau Claire Co. WI-- I have a Halvor HALVORSON, son of Even Halvorson and Berit. The parents lived in Eau Claire and died there giving their land to their daughter-in-law Carrie (Gullikson) and her new husband Andrew Lee Johnson. Carrie died in ND under the name Kari Lie (but with the naming system of Norwegians??) What is trying to discover if Halvor died in Norway or if he was already in USA when Carrie and her daughter Marit came in 1869 from Norway. Thanks for your time, hope this address still works, MaryinSD
