I just re-read my message and meant to say thet Joseph was the sone of Antoine Meunier and his FIRST Wife, Elise-Emile Rochette m. 9 Jul 1861. Antoine married a second time to Sophie Marat Lepine on 28 Feb 1861. Both these marriages are recorded in the Repertoire de Marriages de la Paroisse de St. Jean Baptiste, Quebec.

More on Joseph and Ida Saunders:

From the registry of St. Francis de Sales church in Waterville, Maine - a son was born to this couple on 31 Oct 1902 and died 2 Nov 1902. He was named Michael-Arthur and his god parents were Arthur Sanders and Victoire Rouillard.

Thanks + additional questions

I am wondering if there might be a connection with my Meunier famly. Medard Meunier b @1823 married Zoe Michel in St. Jean in 1847. His parents were Antoine Meunier b @1768 and Monique Surprenant b 1790. Medard's siblings were Moyse/Moise who married Flavie Colombe in St. Jean 1840; Esther who married Jean Baptiste Colombe in St. Jean in 1842 and Louis who married Phoebe Gaboury 1841. Medard and Zoe emigrated to the US around 1860. Their names became Medore and Susie Miller

His siblings were:

Louise Emilie b. 4 20 1903 (never married) d. 1986 in Waterville
Antoine Isadore b. 4 4 1905 d.1957 in California m. Agathe Shank in Waterville
Vivian Clara b. 8 7 1909 (never married) I don't have her date of death but she died in Waterville in the 1940 or 50s.

I have a lot of information on the Meuniers and allied families going all the way to France. Perhaps it would be better to email privately. Would be very interested in your pictures if they can be scanned.

Post more info and I'll try to find them

I do not believe that this is the same branch of the Meunier family. There are various dit names associated with the Meuniers and the one currently under discussion goes back to Mathurin and Francoise Fafard, the first immigrant. Although I have run across Antoine and Monique Suprenant in my research, they did not factor into this line. If you have hit a brick wall, post the info that you need and I will be happy to to look-up for you at our library.

Thanks for the info. I don't know if you can help or not. I'm trying to find the birth record for Amable Medard Meunier who was born 2 May 1853 in Canada. His parents in the US were Medore Meunier/ Miller (b@1823) and Susie St. Mitchell (b @ 1828). I think they are the same Medard Meunier and Zoe Michel who were married in St. Jean 15 Feb 1847 but I need confirmation. Thanks for anything you find.

I'll look when I'm back from vacation
