Will be visiting Warracknabeal in Feb to try to do some research on the Nikkelson name.
George Olas Nikkelsen buried at Warracknabeal Cemetry - anyone know how I can find the grave site. Also his wife Zibiah Elishaba Nikkelsen (Edwards) grave. Also any extra info on this family. George was the gardener/groundsman at the hospital there in the 1910/1920.
Hospital records for the death of Zibiah? Their 2 children?

I am aware of this tree if it is the one I think - some of the info came from me originally but unfortunatly not all the info published on this tree in correct.Photos have wrong names! I am now trying to comfirm my data as I am very anal about not publishing anything unless totally confirmed. Been researching for 20+ years now but this line is tricky. Any other ideas?

Thanks for that also - I have lots of info on the Edwards side of the family. The Nikkelsen side has had me stumped for about 20 years now as there are so many conflicting stories and documents. Still haven't been able to source how old George Olas Nikkelsen came into the country - I even have his Naturalisation Papers in his own handwriting and the info he gave is all rubbish. This is why I want to go and dig around a bit.

Still looking at info on the Nikkelsen family in Warracknabea.
George was my GGrandfather on my mother’s side – his wife Zibiah died while giving birth to twins on 01/10/1890

The children were all told that their mother and the babies died during the birth but records I have show that Zibiah died 1st Oct 1890

Ethel Jane died 28th Oct 1890

Norman Arthur Young Nikkelsen died in 1891

Want to find out if the children were left at the hospital or where they were when they died – Ethel Jane was born 30/09/1890 and Norman was born 01/10/1890.

Seems Ethel Jane lived for a month and Norman lived for about 6 months??? Also the name “Norman Arthur Young Nikkelsen” does not seem to fit this family as all other children are named after relatives.

Could he have been fostered or adopted?

George Olas Nikkelsen buried at Warracknabeal Cemetry -
Some years ago someone told me there was also a grave their in the name of Mikkelsen from Sweden (may be related – spelt wrong) would like to visit this grave site as well
Can anyone confirm any of this and suggest any avenues for me to contact - have already sent email to Warracknabeal Historical Society.
Many thanks
Donna Benson
