I would like to know more about the Anton Mauer family of
Meyer, Iowa and who his descendants are.
Also would like the birthdate of Chrysandt (Chrisante) Thome who died at Stacyville, Iowa and an information
about the families of his children: Mrs. George Meyer (Anna), Mrs. August Simon (Gertrude), Mrs. Margaret Kramer.

Do you have any info on my ggrandmother Eva Thome? I know very little about her as she died approx. 1898 when my grandmother was only about 1year old. She married Frank Offerman from Minneapolis and my gmother was born there. I have been told Eva was from Iowa and had a brother Joseph. She died soon after giving birth to a 2nd daughter Gertrude. The baby did not survive long.

Eva Thome may have been the daughter of my great-great grandaunt, Anna Maria Gilles and her husband Peter Joseph Thome. There's an outside chance that she was the daughter of his second wife, Margaret Eustus. Her grandparents were Johann Josef and Anna Marie Schumacher Thome & Johann Peter and Susanna Glasen (sic: Glaser) Gilles. Her mother Anna Maria was born in 1844 in Bernborn, Rheinland Germany and probably died around 1870 in Johnsburg, Fond du Lac Co., WI. Your grandmother was born around 1870. Eva had three brothers: John (Oct. 22, 1862, Johnsburg WI - Oct. 26, 1946, Meyer, Mitchell IA), Joseph (Apr. 26, 1867, Johnsburg WI - Oct. 11, 1936, Minneapolis MN), William (Mar. 19, 1869, Johnsburg WI - ?), and a sister, Anna Maria (Mrs. John A. Adams) b. Apr 14, 1865, Johnsburg WI - bef. 1920, Stacyville IA. She also had a step-brother, Phillip (Sept. 15, 1875, Stacyville IA - Feb. 19, 1957 Ramsey MN) and a half-sister, Margaret (Oct. 6, 1877, Stacyville IA - Feb. 28, 1952, Stacyville IA). I'll let you know when I find more definite information.

This Thome background in Stacyville is really intriguing. Can anyone tell me how Matthias Thome, born 24 Dec 1881 in Stacyville is tied in? He later married Francis Retterath Halfman in South Dakota and died in Texas on 25 Mar 1943.
If it's part of the same family, I have lots of decendant info to contribute.

Here's what I found out about Eva yesterday. She died about 1898. Frank Offerman married again to Augusta Filder (Fielder, Fulder) on 20 Sep 1899 in Stacyville IA (see LDS website). Frank might be in the Minnepolis 1880 census as the child of Peter and Gertie Offerman. He's in the Minnepolis directory from 1890 to 1891. Frank and Augusta disappear by 1910 when a Cecilia (age 13) and Raymond Offerman (age) can at St. Joseph Convent in Stanley Twp., Cass ND. The parents of all the children staying at the convent are French Canadians which makes me wonder if the sisters their thought of themselves as their parents. I found out nothing about Cecilia or Raymond after this. Any information would be great.
