I'm looking for information about my grandmother, Nida Penton, who was born in 1893 and died about 1961. She married Isaac Wesley Taylor. They lived in Pearl River County, Mississippi. I can not find any other information on her and am interested in tracing her ancestors. Does anyone have any information on her? Please contact me here or E-mail me at

Classification: Query
I just read your message of 8/13/2000. I noticed that you listed your gfather's name as Manuel, which is Spanish. Was he either Spanish or part-Spanish?

I am a Penton and trying to find the family's roots. However, almost without exception, the Penton surname entries I have found on the Internet are from British Pentons, whereas my Penton connection comes from my ggmother, who was born in Cuba. I have no information about her parents, thus resulting in a mystery as to where the family originated, at least from the point in time that they left Europe for the New World.

I'd appreciate any relevant information you may have. Thanks.
