My family name is Humbert. My father is Homer J. Humbert, Jr., his father Sr. born in Pittsburgh, Pa 1861. We trace back to Adam Humbert who came to US 1633. Son Andrew, his son George W., Sr., born 1810 who married Jane Martin whose parents were Frederick Martin and married Mary Hemphill whose father is Gen. Joseph Hemphill, dating back early 1700's. Homer Humbert, Sr. came to Chester, Pa. where my father and his five sisters were born. I was born there in 1935 and we moved to Staten Island, NY in 1935. Pls. advise if you would like more information or can give me any info. thanks.

I am also looking for information to tie in Frederick Humbert with my Humbert Clan. All my relatives are from Somerset, PA, but since I lived in Monaca, PA,most of my life, I was interested in trying to tie the two together. Union Cemetary is in Monaca (used to be Moon Twp., not Beaver Falls).I had no idea there was a Frederick Humbert there (I'll have to go and search soon) There is a Frederick buried in the German Lutheran Cemetary in Monaca. He died in 1855. His wife was Ruth Ann Fish. She died in 1881. According to the relatives in this area, they had the daughters that you spoke of. I'll try to get more info on this shortly. If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know. Carol

Carol,
I am desparately trying to link a relationship between Caroline Humbert and Christina Humbert. No one so far can make the connection. These two gals were married to Erb's ( possibally brothers, but again no relationship has been established other than
Caroline and Frederick Erb took in one of John and Christiinas sons after their death.)
It is possible that Christina was already married in 1840. Frederick was in Pittsburgh at that time , I have yet to view the Census for 1840 Pittsburgh but found them on the
1840 cenusus index. If you get a chance could you see if you can find the 2 people buried in the Union Cemmetery Erb plots in washed away stones. Lots E-4 E-7 E-11
That may help uncover this puzzle..and tie together Frederick Humberts and hhiis daughters including Christina, perhaps Frederick was married twice, is another possibility. Any help will be appreciated .
Thanks Gina Matthews

Gina,
I went to the Union Cemetery today and found an Erb Family, but I don't know if they're related to you. They were Christopher Catharine, William Priscilla, Clara George and 2 small children named Rachel Joseph. I don't know what section they were in, no plot markers. I'll have to go to the historical society look at the Cemetery listings when I get a chance. The main Erb monument must have been 15 - 16 feet tall! Looked like wealthy people. Do any of these names sound familiar to you? Let me know. I'm going on vacation for 5 or 6 days; be back next Monday. Talk to you then.
