Reg, The information shared with you came from the STOKES
COUNTY HERITAGE BOOK. The article was written by Pinkney
Blum Smith, Jr. He traced Soloman's side of the family. He
did not mention names of William's children. The dates he
gave for William were (1780-1847). Wade

Soloman Smith's parents were John Smith (1745-1817) and
Elizabeth Johnson Smith (1745-1849). Soloman had a brother,
William Smith (1780-?). Soloman and some of his brothers
moved from Halifax Co., VA, to Surry/Stokes Co., NC. Some
of William's family moved to NC. We are not sure if William
moved to NC.

Soloman Smith (1795-?) was one of 18 children. The eleven identified brothers and sisters are: Mary (1779-?), William (1780-1847), John (1782-1857), Langley (1784-?), Jeremiah (1786-?), James (1790-?), Joseph (1796-1875), Sally (1798-?), Elizabeth (1802-?), and Bershaba (1806-?). Soloman moved from Halifax Co., VA to Stokes Co., NC, as did his brothers, Joseph and John. Some of Williams family also moved to Stokes Co., NC. Elizabeth Johnson Smith (1745-1849) moved from VA at the age of 104 and is buried in the Smith Family Cemetery in Stokes Co., NC. We do not have any other records of a Johnson family connection.
