Emma Thompson was my maternal grandfathers aunt. She was his mothers sister. My grandfather once told me when he was little around the age of 2 or 3 (1940-41) that his Aunt Emoline (Emma) was supposed to come over to the house but never showed up and was never to be heard from again. This is what his mother Cora Belle Thompson told him. So please if you know anything of this or could find her on a 1920 census record I would be very grateful!

Her Father was Nathaniel Christopher Thompson

Her Mother was Elzina Barb

d. 15 May 1935 Iona, Missouri,

I'm not related, just trying to help.

I don't know what happened to Orville Conner but it looks like around 1925 Emma married William W Christian. Emma and William are living close to the Widowed Elzena in 1930.

I am going to question whether Emaline Thompson was married to William Christian. She married Orville Conner in 1919 and is found with him in White, Missouri in 1920. In 1930 he is found in Nebraska living with sons Charles and Aubrey. An Emma Conner is found in Lancaster, Nebraska in the Hospital for the insane. Then in 1940, Orville (Arvel) and Emma are living in Osage, Missouri with sons Charles, Frances and Aubrey. Orville 1899-1986 is buried in Countryside Memorial Park in Gasconade County with his wife Emma L (1904-1975. I think this is Emaline Thompson. Do you have additional information which would prove or disprove that this is Emaline. Sure would like to know the story behind her disappearance. Wonder if she was mentally ill and they covered it up by saying she just disappeared. Would appreciate any additional information you may have.

In the 1920 census they are in White, Benton, Misssouri but the names have been transcribed as Anul Conner and Emmie Connor so it took me forever to find them.

You are correct that Emaline Thompson did not marry a Christian:

William W. Christian married Audrey Easley in Benton Co. 1921, her mother Emma giving consent.

In 1930 they are listed as William W. 34, Emma A. 26, and Alma 2.

In 1940 as Warren W. 44, Audrey 36, Alma 12

Emma and W. W. are buried in Henry Co:
