The only cemetery I know of for the Schooner Valley, would be Duncan Cemetery. There are several Bradleys buried there.. Which Bradley are you looking for? Lana Shipley Carter-----wingsounds@aol.com.

I have had someone respond and send me all the Bradley's in that Cemetery and other cemeteries in the area.

There are Bradley's that are in my line there, but I can't find the one I really need. Charles C. Bradley....and his wife Mary Jane, as well as his sister-in-law, Frances Bradley.

Thank you for offering.

Schooner Cemetary is indeed Duncan Cemetary. A useful site I recently found is http://199.8.200.90:591/cemetery.html

You can visit this site and enter any cemetary name/location and it will tell you where it is and the current name.

If you need directions to Duncan Cemetary, just email me and I'll tell you how to get there.

I'm trying to locate information on my ggGrandfather George Newton Shaw. He married Ellen Edward Higbee. All information that I've gathered thus far indicates they lived in the Brown/Monroe County area. I've visited Schooner cemetary (Now called Duncan) and located Ellen's grave. However, there is not one for George although on Ellen's tombstone is says "WIFE OF GEO. N"

Anyone out there have ANY information that could help me in my search for George or his parents?

Many thanks!

On Sept 23, 2001 my mother and I updated the listing of this cemetery and several others in the county. I do have a listing by name to check which cemetery they might be in if you'd like me to look. Here is what I've found so far.

HIGSBY, no given name - (?), 31, 1871 (broken fieldstone) (no marker)

SHAW, CHAS W. - b 1846 d 1929 (ossw Mary J. Shaw) CO. A. 93. IND. VOL (Flag)

SHAW, ELLEN E. - b Sept 26, 1855 d Dec 1, 1901 (Wife of Geo. N. Shaw) (Mother)

SHAW, GEORGE N. - d 6-27-1938 age 83-10-21 (BFHR) (no marker)

SHAW, MARY J. - b 1846 d 1871 (ossw Chas. W. Shaw) (also single eroded stone) Mary J. Shaw - d Mar 9, 1871

Thanks for replying. Many dozens of my family are in Duncan Cemetery. I was glad to get the link, I had it once and put it somewhere--forever. I am curious as to who your family is. You may e-mail me direct at wingsounds@aol.com. Thanks again, Lana

What state are you referring to? What are George's birth and death dates?
