Hi Patti,
This is SO confusing!
Father, Daniel STONER bio says 8 children
Son, Henry STONER bio says 12, 5 living in 1912

Daniel (father) died at age 74
Elizabeth (mother) died at age 66

If the names are in order in book, then children are:
1. deceased
2. deceased
3. deceased
4. Henry b. Nov. 1, 1839 m. Feb. 8, 1866 to Mary A. HAYDEN

[b. Feb. 17, 1846; dau., ONLY CHILD of John W. and Abagail (BARBER) HAYDEN of LaPorte Co.] they had 7 children, 5 living in 1912
5. Isaac - married, living in Valparaiso (1912)
6. Daniel I. b. Mar. 27, 1848 (8th of 11, although Henry's bio says 12) 6 sons, 5 daughters, 5 living in 1912

m. Dec. 31, 1874 to Clara Alice WHITE, a 6th child, b. July 6, 1853 of 11, 7 sons, 4 daughters, to William and Adeline (MORTON) WHITE. They had 3 children, Daisy, died; Raymond, died; and Willis Gordon, an attorney and instructor
7. Clara M. Stanton DILLINGHAM, Dec. 8, 1875, widowed by 1912
8. Mary, the youngest, wife of E. E. DILLIE, farms Center Twp.

I get 8! If you want copies, let me know! Jan

Hi again, Bonnie!

Are you trying to go back or forward on Mary?

I hope I have this right!
Mary is one of 12 born to Daniel and Elizabeth (LUDY) STONER [1912 Porter Co. Hist., 533] (Brother Henry's bio, Dilley spelling is different, brother probably couldn't spell!)
Daniel, another brother bio, [1912 book, 484]

Daniel STONER (father) b. 4 June 1815, Montgomery Co., OH, fom OH to IN in 1840
m. June 15, 1835 to
Elizabeth LUDY, b. 21 May 1813 in OH, d. Nov. 1880
[1882 bios, 288]

Will send if wanted! More to you later, great job on the tree! Jan

Samuel E. DIlley born 1851 was a son of David Dilley and Adeline (Ellithorp) Dilley. David Dilley was born in Trumbull Co OH and was brought to IN. by his widowed mother, Mary (Dinwiddie) Dilley. David married Adeline Ellithorp whose family was from NY state. Children of David and Adeline Dilley were:
William, James, Dora, John, David, Thomas, Susan, Mary, Jennie, Adeline, Emma, George and Samuel.
On 1879, Samuel Dilley married Mary V. Stoner.
I am focusing my research on the Dinwiddie family and any info would be appreciated! Thanks!

re: Porter County Query Board, Mary M. Dinwiddie Dilley was born June 5, 1794, probably in Adams Co., PA. She was 7th child of David and Susannah Patterson Dinwiddie. The family moved to Ohio, where David died, then to Indiana. She married Jonathan Dilley in 1823. Looks as tho David was the only surviving child, born Jan 28, 1825. This info is in the Dinwiddie Clan Record, published in 1902 by my g-grandfather Oscar Dinwiddie of Lowell. An update was published in 1952 by his son Keith. Email me if you'd like more about the Dinwiddies.

Just passed the Plum Grove Cemetery on Rt 2 near the police post in Lowell on the way to the vet today, and a large tombstone with Dinwiddie can be read from the road. This cemetery has been canvassed by the Northwest Indiana Genealogical Society and is book is available at most Lake Co. libraries.
