Micajah Webb of Greensville was the father of Kinchen Webb, Warren Webb, John Webb, Jr. and others.

Micajah's father was Charles Webb and Elizabeth Barker of Southampton.

Charles Webb's father was Robert Webb.

Some researchers believe these Webbs are descended from a Stephen Webb.

Micajah Webb had two brothers, John and Charles. Charles was supposed to inherit the plantation in Southampton.

Micajah and John moved to near the Meherrin River.
Micajah married a Martha -- believed to be connected to the Kinchens and Ruffins. Warren Webb's wife was definitely related to the Ruffins. I have been corresponding with descendants of both Warren and Kinchen Webb.

I would like to know more about Micajah's brother John. He had a daughter named Temperance that married a Cato. There is a Polly Webb that married a John Robinson. Is she the daughter of John? There is a Micajah Webb, Jr., that appears to be the son of John instead of Micajah. There is a young Charles Webb near John in a 1787 petition that I believe is John's son. Close by is a William Ezell. I believe the Charles Webb is my ancestor that married Delilah Ezell, daughter of William Ezell and moved to the Union District of South Carolina by the 1800 census.

Charles Webb (abt 1767-1831) eventually settled at Anderson, South Carolina. His son, Micajah Webb (1797-1850) is my ancestor. Micajah had a brother named Warren Robinson Webb, which relates to this family connection. Micajah's brother Edmund was born in 1787 near the Meherrin River in Virginia. Most likely the Edmund name came from the Ruffins. I have a strong suspicion that John Webb of Greensville was also married to a Ruffin connection.

Micajah had a son named Kinchen. William Kinchen was married to Elizabeth Ruffin. William had daughters named Mary and Martha. Some researchers believed that Micajah married a Martha Ruffin. I suspect he married a Kinchen. But I don't believe it was Martha the daughter of William Kinchen.

William's son, William Kinchen II, also had daughters named Mary and Martha. Was this Martha the wife of Micajah Webb of Greensville? She also had a sister named Temperance. Was Temperance Webb, daughter of John Webb, named for her?
