I am searching for information on the Voelz family. My mother's maiden name was Voelz. Her father was Albert H. Voelz and her mother was Edith Andrew Allen. Any information would be appreciated.

Donna, just ran across this site. My husband is John Voelz we are in California. He is not here at the moment, but I will ask him about this tonight as we do have a picture that I couldn't locate today with an Albert Voelz that I believe was my husbands cousin. His father was from the Minnesota area and North or South Dakota. We have tried to search out many Voelz's when we run across them but no one is ever interested that is why I am excited. My husbands father left home when he was 15 and never went back so my husband never knew any of the Voelz family that his father was from except those that were from his father. I am not a subscriber of the ancestory site just got some free time on it because of entering a sweepstakes so if you want to answer us back we are at and would need yours to further correspond. You can post it on this site for a few more days as I think we have a few more on here. Hi, Judy. I am very glad to hear from you. It seems we may have a connection as my Grandfather was from Minnesota and I have heard stories from my sister who went there that there was someone who left at 15 and never returned. If you don't mind I am going to forward your e-mail address to her since she has become more of a Voelz historian since her visit. If you object, let me know and I will not send anything. I am so glad to hear from you and hope to keep in touch for a long long time.

Donna,That would be fine if you want to forward our e-mail address to your sister. My husband got home and is all excited. He has family from his dad down. There is another man in Sacramento that we believe to be related. Our son was at college and they mixed his files up with a girl with the last name of Voelz. They exchanged numbers and we called. It seemed as if we were making progress with names and such but we could never make a date with him and then he never called back so we don't know.

Donna, I forgot to tell you that I had made a mistake in my first answer to you it would be my husbands grandfather that was Albert like yours not his cousin. We found the picture. If they are one in the same that would make you and my husband cousins. Sometimes this gets confusing, especially when he knows nothing. Waiting to hear back Judy
