My grandfather was a Siebrands,
and he had a brother named Harm. I am not
sure if that is the Harm you are looking
for. There were four children in that family,
and they were Dick (my grandfather), Harm,
William, and Anna (Heeren). Please let me
know if this is the family you are looking for,
and I will be happy to help you with
information.

My branch of the Siebrands family, or what I know of it at this time, is from Butler Co. Iowa. I don't believe the Harm Siebrands you mentioned is the one that would be my Great Grandfather. I would be very interested in sharing information with you though. I am trying to link the Siebrands family in S.E. South Dakota and S.W. Minnesota to my branch. I feel there is a commom link but haven't found it yet. I have information on other Siebrands family members that I can't place yet as well.

I would be willing to share what I have on my
Siebrands family. I know that there are/were
Siebrands in South Dakota, but I believe, if
my mom is right, they lived up by Watertown,
South Dakota. She remembers her parents going
up there to visit. As for the Minnesota
Siebrands, I don't know about them. I asked
my mom, and she said she didn't know of any
of them living in Minnesota. I too believe
that we must have a link here somewhere. I
know that my grandfather had cousins who ran
a circus at one time, I think back in the
forties. However, that is about all I can tell
you. If you would like my information, let
me know, and I would be happy to e-mail it to
you.

I am looking for info on Hinkle Siebrands and discovered your posting. He also came from Oost Friesland and ended up in Iowa. I found him on the list of Germans to America as having arrived July of 1865 from Bremen. Based on the similarities I am hoping that you might have encounter this family in your research. Hinkle was married to Etta Giertje, they had a son Ubbo.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have just started working on this side of my family and have been frustrated by the fact that the family quickly changed the spelling to Seabrands. If you will give me the names of your family I will keep an eye out for it when I am searching for mine. Afterall at some point they will converge. In addition, if you see anything about Hinkle and wife Etta I would appreciate it. If you would like the info on Hinkle forward I would be glad to share it. The family ended up in Washington state by way of South Dakota.

I also have been looking for members of the Seabrands/Siebrands family. My grandfather married a Seabrands. Our records have the Siebrands all the way back to Brandenburg, Germany ('Henry' Siebrands and Anna Koenigsberg). Since my grandfather also lived in Washington State, I am wondering if there might be a relation somewhere.
