Hello, Jeremy, it's wonderful to communicate with long-lost relatives. This could turn out to be pretty cool.

That is indeed my father born on Feb. 15, 1920, who died May 1 this year. Robert George Schmal.

As far as I can tell, Rassia is another spelling
and misspelling for Russia.

Classification: Query
Surnames: Schmal and Fehringer
I am also researching the Schmal name. My great grandfather, Henry Schmal, came to the USA, I think, at the age of 20, arriving Nov. 1, 1865, on the Saxonia, from Hamburg. I don't know if he traveled with someone. His parents are Konrad and Elizabeth Schmal. Henry married Anna Fehringer in 1871 in St. Louis, MO.

I don't see anything recent out here, has anyone had much luck in the search?
