My Great Grandfather was Conrad L. Neebe born 1880ish in NY married Mary Cameron born 1882ish in Phila, PA. Conrad's Father was also Conrad but I don't have any information on where or when he was born or immigrated to the us. I can only assume he was German based on information from my grandmother before she passed. I have a fair amount of information on this family. Would love to share my tree maybe we can make a few connections. Please let me know if this is possible.

Thanks for replying, Samantha. I'm not sure if there's a connection. My Conrad was born abt 1829, so could be your ggrandfather's grandfather. The family is a mystery. Even the spelling is iffy (could be Nebe). My ggrandmother had a sister, Anna, but that's all I know. Yes, they were German, but don't know where from. Ggrandma was born 1859. I'll keep searching, and would like to hear more from you.

My grandfather's name was Heinrich Munch and he was born in Gellerhausen, Germany Aug 16, 1869. He emigrated to the US and lived in NYC his entire life. I am wondering if your Munch's are any relation to us?

Hi Kathleen. The Heinrich Munch (or Muench) in my line was born around 1820, and came to NY in 1848. His last residence in Germany was in Hannover, in the town of Munden. Of course, it's always possible that they were related; but it's not the same person.
Happy hunting!

My ggrandfather was Conrad Neebe born in NY abt. 1881. His mother was Amelia born abt 1861, this I discovered in the 1910 Phila Co.,PA census. There were a bunch of brothers & and a sister. My grandfather used to visit with is relatives in Chicago (Grace Neebe Cook). Haven't been back to the NARA lately so I am at a standstill. I'll let you know if I come across any of the Neebe's your researching. Thanks for your help

My name Chris Martin I am researching my Paternal Granmother's Line, her name is Theodora (Dinkelberg)Martin her parents are Frederick Dinkelberg & Henrietta Nebe.
Henrietta Nebe was born on 21 Feb. 1895 in Long Island City,LI,NY'; she died of Pancreatic Cancer on 2 Mar. 1955 in
Her Father's name is Henry Nebe and he was born on 21 Feb 1853 and he died in Flushing in 1928, where he was born I cannot say at the moment but I thought it was in New York City but since I have found that ther were Nebe's in the Bronx so it could be that he was born here, his father was a Henry Nebe as traditon goes and his mother was Eizabeth Sussman if this is true or not I have not found out yet for I have been working heavily on the Dinkelberg's over the last several years.
I have recived some information which goes like this:
Henry had two brother's and a sister, her name could be Carrie , the other 2 remain namless at the moment.
The family ran a bakery which the Nebe's could have inhereted from Henry's wife's family(the Sussman's) and they must have been thriving for they had many coustomers in the area, so with that in mind they had to have someone deliver the goods.
My 2nd Great-Grandfather(Henry) was the one they chose for the job.
As the story goes he was the poor choice for the job, one day he went out to deliver the bread and did not return in time for another run, it was quite late and they were geting worried so his brothers decided to search for him, one of them found him in an Ally with the wagon still full of baked goods and Henry was fast asleep !
An argument broke out and Henry was eventually told he was nolonger a part of the family business, they cut him off and they did not anything to do with him anymore.
Henry I guess was bitter, he left home and settled down in Long Island city where he met his future wife Abertina Bernardia Frederika Orbel.
The informatino I found has to do with an Anna Nebe
b. 20th Jan. 1868
w. Bronx,NY
d. 26 Jan. 1928 Bronx,NY
her Parents are Conrad & Louisa(Hoffman)NEBE.
I have a gut feeling there might be a connection but how I cannot say.
I would like to hear from you, please contact me !

There are Conrad Neebes that are part of my family tree, cousins I believe. My family is from the Philadelphia area and I think I remember my grandma talking about an Aunt Amelia and an Aunt Grace.

Any connection?
