John Moreau Military records indicated;DOB Appx.1796 Lyon,France. Enlisted NY 1814 caputed at Plattsburg,N.Y.and released. Enlisted with John Jr. 1829 NY. discharged 1832 in NY. In 1838 attorney wrote letter in Morristown, N.J. requesting pension.
Found John in Census 1820 in Clinton Co. Plattsburg,and in 1830 census Porter CO. Ft. Niagara, N.Y. Lost him after 1838.
Not much more known. Trying to locate any information.
Had two sons and one daughter by census. Fact: One son, John Moreau Jr. DOB 1816 born Morristown, N.J. enlisted NY military 1829 and retired in Texas after 30 yrs. Married Lousia Goldberg San Antonio, Bexar Co. Texas 1849

Mary Moreaux was married to William Ducote and had five children...Charles Bloom (my G'pa), Adrest, James, Albert and Anna. Charles was born Aug.25,1906. Any info welcome. D.D.

Dear Debbie, I don't know much about that part of my family. Mary Moreau-Ducote was my Father's Grandmother and she was quite old when he was a kid. My Grandmother has told me in the past that she was from Flanders France and she was very petite and full of energy. She was also very talented, playing the piano and singing. That's about all I really know. Sorry ,Bye.

Try searching under the "american" spelling of Morrow. My family's name was changed to this spelling here in NY.
