Searching for info on George/Catherine QUINN who lived in Wabasha County in MN around 1860. Their children were: Mary, Catherine,
Patrick, Hugh, Elizabeth, George and John. John is buried in a family plot outside of Kellogg; Hugh was a riverboat pilot; and Patrick farmed in Lincoln County in MN. Any help would be appreciated! Please email me.

Hi Mary, I was surfing and found your post. I am interested in your McCaffreys because some of their names are familiar and I dont have right now in front of me their list. Originally, I have a Michael Peter McCaffrey from Fermanaugh Co. Ire. Came to New York and married Ellen Moore. I have their twelve childrens names but no dates or spouses, nor places. I am searching a John Henry McCaffrey line. He was born in Quebec. I have no other info on folks before him. I have lots after him. If this sounds familiar, I would appreciate your help. Thanks, Nancy

My family came to the US from Scotland via County Down, Ireland. In Fermanagh there was a McCaffrey (McCaughry) manor home that was occupied by two older women up to the 1960s. The home was in poor repair, but was supposedly the ancestral home (the women were two McCaffrey sisters that were cousins of mine). Otherwise, my grandfather was John McCaffrey and had multiple siblings that are now spread far and wide (their progeny)throughout the British Isles and the US and Canada. The remaining McCaffrey's from that clan are in Newry, No. Ireland and Laurencetown, N. Ireland.

My mother married my father when she was 16. I was born a week before that. My father's name is Michael Franklin McCaffrey. His father Patrick Edward McCaffrey evidently had a father or uncle or both that came to America in the early 1900's. They owned a shipping company in New York City at some point. I just thought I would let you know.

My father, Aiden McCaffrey came to New York (the Bronx)in the early 1960's via Galway - via Tipperary - but our family was from Fermanagh origionally - (late 1800's??? - I'm not sure). My great aunt Helen still lives in Fermanagh - she must be at least 90 by now. Most of my relatives live in Galway or Dublin, with a few in Fermanagh that I haven't been in touch with lately. My grandfather's name was Michael - who died in the mid 1940's. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

My grandmother was Catherine McCaffrey, also from Fermanagh. The last living relative says that she was born in 1878, however she also says that the women in those day never told their true age.I would say her birth occurred in 1875 not sure . The only link I have right now is Fermanagh and I believe a brother Owen. Any info or anyone I could contact in Ireland would be appreciated.
Thanks Rod

My grandfather Hugh McCaffrey of Debuke Iowa just passed on Christmas morning(oddly enough at the exact same time as his brother Neil). He was at one time a model, artist, and photographer. He often told stories of the Mississippi. His father Hugh was a river boat captain. I'll ask my father more if you would like more information. This is my first attempt to look into the family tree. Please let me know if you have anything that may be of assistance.
