trace of great great uncle
I am looking for a martin or gabriel mannix who left Ireland from liverpool to NY between 1876 and 1890 I think he married a mary nevins and had a son who he took to america. Any one have any info on what happened in NY and if he settled there as i think we may be related to his offspring. we settled in Liverpool from Ireland and would like to trace and find some relatives for e.mail communication and info etc
Do you have any idea what part of Ireland they were from? My great-grandmother was Mannix, from Kerry. I know very little about her.
I have information regarding Martin Gabriel dating back to 1846.
If you are interested in this information please email me a firstname.lastname@example.org
I also have gaps in my mannix information which you may be able to assist me in completing.
My name is Bob Mannix, originally from Liverpool England but now living in Oxfordshire. I am 45 years old.
My dad was born in Liverpool and died late last year aged 80. I think his dad was related to Garbriel or Martin one of which who left for America in about 1840-45.
I am trying to piece the history together so would appreciate any help or info you have.
Searching for Mannix ancestors
My grandfather Arthur George Mannix was born in Cork County c.1863.Do not know the first names of his parents or of his siblings - 2 brothers and 1 sister. He married Sarah Jane Dohan in London,Eng. where he was employed as an "Officer of the Poor Law". He died in 1901. As far as I know the siblings remained in Ireland. Any information on these Mannixes and their descendents would be more than appreciated. TIA
What was your Fathers name?
I have a lot of information which may be of use to you. Do you have an email account I can contact you on.
My email address is email@example.com

do you have any ideas of their christian names?
May be able to help!!!
Okay, I'm confused! I obviously didn't post the last query to myself, so who did?
Whoever you are, yes, I know my great-grandmother's name, it was Julia (born 1872).
Her parents were James Mannix, born Gorticurrane, date unknown, and Johanna Murphy, born Glen, Minard, date unknown.
Her siblings were
Patrick b unknown
James b 1867 bap 2 Jan 1868 died young
John b 1869 bap 16 Feb 1869
Catherine b 1870
Denis b 1874
Maurice b 1872
James b 1874 bap 15 Mar 1874
Hannah b/d unknown
James' parents were James Mannix, details unknown, and Mary Kennedy, details unknown.
I've also recently discovered through family that Julia Mannix Ashe died after 1908 (youngest child born), but probably before 1920, as she died while family was young, and her eldest was born 1899. I'm hypothesising that it was before 1915.
I'm Marion nee Mannix, older lady trying to learn the internet and tie up my family tree at the same time. I have a note of some julia's, earliest one 1810, but not much detail. Very interested in earlier Mannix's.
Hope this answers your question.
Mannix Brothers of Cork County, Ireland
My research goes back to Ireland when Henry
ARthur Mannix was born Nov. 7 , 1842 Mahon
Abbey,Court Maclerry, County Cork, Ireland.
Henry and two of his brothers immigrated to
Quebec Canada in 1860 where two of them
married sisters by the name of Bompas. They
made their ways across Canada, taking part
in the Fenian Raids, eventually settling in
Saskatchewan, Battleford area. Many Mannix'
descendants remain in that area while many
are on the West Coast, Vancouver Island and
Washington state. Unaware of any family
the brothers left behind in Ireland but the
dates and names fit for your family....
