Saw the ancestory message board and thought there may be some connection in the family between Harold Koskey born March 31, 1899 died July 1961 in Emmett Idaho. We know the family name was shortened from Kwiatkowski to Koskey somewhere along the way. Harold received his ss# in MN prior to 1951; he married Delila Casper and had a son in 1944 that they named John Aurther but that's it. Do you have anything that may connect your father to Harold. I thought because your father's name is John Paul that and your name is John P that maybe John Auther was named after Harold's brother or father ..... Hope you can tell me something. I'm submitting this from a friends E-mail so she will deliver the message when you can get it to me. I have a few more places to dig in to, that might have more information. I'll forward what I find to you if you like.
Please respond at your earliest convenience.

Hi John P. Koskey,
Yes that is very possible that you are related and it would be exciting to find out any information that you have on any brothers or sisters of your fathers. John A. Koskey was born in 1944 to Howard Koskey and Delilah Casper Koskey in Emmett, Id. John's father, like yours, changed his name to the shorter version of Koskey. We know he served in the army and got his ss# in the east and howard had a brother in N.Y. named John, but John A.'s parents are both dead and he can not remember any more about his father. If you can e-mail anything that would be great.

I don't know much about the cities/areas of Poland, but I am interested in any possible connection to the Kwiatkowski name in Poland.

I have a Lawrence Kwiatkowski married to Frances Kalinowski from the area of Przybyslaw/Turzany/Parchanie/Inowroclaw.

Lawrence and Frances had a daughter Josephine born in Przybyslaw I am guessing @ 1870, so Lawrence would be born @ 1850....all guess work on the dates. However, Josephine did marry 2nd husband Joseph Szczupak in Rochester NY 20 January 1908. He emigrated to US in MAy 1907 w/first wife and children, so Joseph and Josephine could have known each other/been from same area. Josephine died 12 March 1946 in Rochester.

Other names from the same area are Kaliska, Niewiadowski, Burmistrzak, Paprocki, Borowicz, Adamski, Zwierzykowska, Karminska, Kruszynski and Ulanowski.

Turzany is a small community @ 4 km west of Parchanie, and Parchanie is @ 8 km east of Inowroclaw. All in the Posen/Poznan area. Most of the families were married in or buried from St. Nicholas Church in Inowroclaw. At some point in history, these villages/towns may have been under Polish/German/Russian rule, but the families have always considered themselves Polish.

Let me know if you think there may be a connection.

My name is Jason Koskey. Son of Dolores Zellie and Frank Koskey both from Pittsburgh PA. Our Family has Presock, Zellie, kuczikowski, and Koskey to name a few. Let me know if any of these names ring a bell in your family tree. My email is dr_tott25 which is but if I put the email address together then you would not see the underscore.

My name is Paul Koskey also. I was doing a Google search for my name and came accross this information. I find it curious that when my brother researched the family history that my great grandfather had the same name as your ancestor before americanizing the family name to Koskey. We believe our ancestors came from Hamburg, Germany. I would enjoy communicating with you about this.
