I am the daughter of James Kamaunu, grand daughter of Rose (Kaawaloa) and Robert Kamaunu and I am trying to research my family's geneology and history. Please e-mail me. I would like to who my ancestors are dating as far back as possible. If anyone has any information, please contact me.

I met a Lucille Kemmennu (sp?) as an order taker for J.Crew. She said her family was Chaldean, which is a Christian religion originating from northern Iran. There are Chaldean websites. I have seen them when researching my Christian Arab roots in the Lebanese Maronite community.
Would love to hear from you - good luck.
(ps I have a Palestinian friend named Khowla-I did not know her name means rose)

Aloha Kristi

My name is Marcial Basbas. My father was John Naki Kamaunu, Jr or II.

I know you posted this message back in 2000. Did you get the information you were seeking for? As a matter of fact, I'm looking too.

I think that your father and my father may have been cousins. My father passed away in 1985. My mother mentioned back in 2000 that a cousin of my dad called her. I believe it may have been your father? My mother passed away in 2001.

Anyway, I hope you get this message. Email me back.

Aloha and welcome to world of doing family geneology! My name is Carol Kamaunu Costa and I am the youngest child of Myra and Benjamin Kamaunu. Your grandfather Robert Kamaunu and my father are first cousins. Their father's are brothers. My grandfather Benjamin Kamaunu died in 1916 my father was just a year old at the time. I am working on our Kamaunu/Lelepali Geneology with hopes of finding a picture of my grandfather for our family album. I believe you can get a lot of information and probably some pictures from you aunt Sandra. Please feel free to contact me at my e-mail Maybe we can work together and try to accomplish this very rewarding mission. Take care and God Bless until I hear from you.

Aloha Carol,

Yes, my dad did say that he was related to the Lelepali's on Molokai. This is all that I have.
