I am looking for any information about the Kalt(Kaltenegger) family. I know that the husband & wife migrated here through Canada and settled in Michigan(Lansing). I also know that they had three children 1 boy and 2 girls. I do not know the birthdate of the boy. One of the girls, Joan-2.17.30 and the other Karen(my mother) 5.29.44. Any help that I can get would be greatly appreciated.

MI Kaltenegger

Shelba Buffum --

I have some information on the Michigan Kalteneggers.
Please contact me at

Send me what you know, I will try to fill in the blanks and send it back to you.

There were a number of Kalteneggers that lived in the Chicago area around 1900.
They do not seem to be related to the Michigan Kalteneggers, but I have some information on them anyway.

Talk to you soon

Charles Lewis Kalt was a brother to my gg-grandfather, John Stuart Kalt. The family originally lived in Columbiana Co OH, but floated down the Ohio river on a raft ca 1870 and lived near Sandyville WVA. My gg-grandfather came back to Ohio with his brother Andrew Kalt and lived in the villages of Midvale & Barnhill. Have info on all siblings and most descendants of their parents Ernst Karl Ludwig (Charles) Kaldt/Kalt & wife, Maria Fuhrman/Foreman Kaldt/Kalt.

Could this family have been in Putnam, OH in 1880? I found a John Kalt, married to Maria with 7 children. They were in Monterey township. The children are:
William, age 16
Emma, age 15
Charles, age 13
Maria, age 8
Frank, age 6
John and Anna (twins) age 4
If these are part of your family, I'd like to hear from you.
