I am looking for information on the ancestry
and family of Archibald Howe, born 1772 in
Washington County, PA. died in Wayne County,
OH 1827. It was reported he was a brother to
British General William Howe - I cannot find
reference to him anywhere. It was suggested
he may have been a cousin rather than a

Archibald Howe had 12 children, one of which
is Peter born 1805. He had 9 children one of
which was Hiram born 1839. Hiram had 5 children
of which one was Mary Catherine, born 1866.
She married Elias Acker and they had one
daughter - Maud.

Any assistance will be appreciated.

Please let me know if we can compare.

My great-greatgrandfather was in the Civil War, James M. Howe, in the 8th Illinois Calvary. His family, 17 in all, moved to Illinois from Manchester, Vt. in 1856. His parents were Joel and Rebecca ( Wakefield ) Howe. He is a descendant of both Abraham and
James Howe, who came to America in 1630's, and settled in Roxbury.

I have Howe family back to 1776, most have been born in PA and OH. I am trying to tie the elder Howe, Archibald, to the ritish General and Admiral Howe from the Revolutionary War. The younger Howe is Hiram, born in PA married Mary B. They had 5 children. The one I am tracing is Mary Catherine who maried Elias Acker. If I find your family in my research, I will be very happy to forward th einformation on to you.

I am researching information on my GGGrandfather William Henry Howe. He was born in Ohio in approximately 1833 or 1834. He is listed in the Liberty Twp., Putnam County, Missouri Census of June 1880. My GGrandmother was his daughter Josiebelle, who was born in Joplin, Missouri. William's father is listed as being born in Virginia, but I cannot make out what it says for his Mother. My Grandmother, Lily Marguerite Blankinship was born in Holton, Kansas. I do know that some of the family resided in Denison, Kansas in 1912. Hope someone has more information. Thank You - Barb Westgarth
