just read your note , back after hols - my husband's
mothers side (can't remember my listing?) Her parents
were first cousins - Mary Ellen Hourahine & James Frederick
Hourahine mar. 7 dec. 1914 Newport, S. Wales. There
parents were hers-James Hourihane & Mary McDonald
and his Jeremiah Hourihan & Mary Crotty - the parents
of James and Jeremiah are John Hourihane & Bridget ?
from Ireland - thats about it apart from the siblings

I thought that I wiuld contact you I am related to diannes husband we are cousins, our parents are Hourahine, mine Vera Winifred, Johns -- Mary Elizabeth a large family still resides here South Wales and I am in contact with a mike hourihane who is also researching his branch. so far were are no further , well i'm not than gt,gt, granfather john and bridget but its ealry days yet! bye pamela moss

Hi Louise,

Just thought it might be worth contacting you as my grandfather was Daniel Hourihan, but changed his name to Daniel Howard. His father was Mortimer Hourihan. Daniel spent some time in America, returned and married my grandmother Mary Canty also from around Clonakilty. They ended up living in East Cork, where I was born and raised.
If you had any information it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm now living in Australia.

Although you titled your query Hourihane, it is the Cantys of Clonakilty that interest me. Do you know anything about this family. My ggrandmother Catherine Dacey Canty emigrated from Clonakilty in the last half of the nineteenth century. We think her husband, Timothy Canty had died before she emigrated.
