I think Benjamin Harbeson was the brother
of my gggrandfather Adam Harbeson who came
from Ireland and lived in New Jersey. I think
there are decendants of Benjamin who live in
Alaska.

Adam as a forename, amongst all H.groups, is fairly definative as coming from Ballymena, County Antrim. If this Adam was from Salem Co, NJ then they were definately ex Ballymena (just whereabouts is moot-it is the largest H. Irish mob).
The Ben H.s, of which we have a very incomplete tree, were NOT out of Ballymena-although from a number of other Ulster locales in which other H.s were living. We do have them from Paris KY, where the name has died out. At the moment I haven't any contacts from any surviving H. members-possibly on the Paxton/Marshal sides someone remains.

I may be from the Harbesons in KY. My gggrandmother was Elizabeth Harbeston/Harbeson. She was born around 1838 to 1848, I believe in Ky. I have been trying to gather information on her. She married Aaron. T. Vandiver, he was died around 1880 or after in McKinney TX, or Dennison TX. She then married a John (Pat )Cummins. I do not know if they were divorced or he passed away. She then married a George JohnsonThey lived in OK and MO. She was supposed to have died in the early 1900's in Sonora AR. She had one son named George Alexander Vandiver and raised a girl by the name of Pansey they called Fanny she married an Albert. That is all the information that I have. If you have any information about the family please e-mail me
poetdec@wavecomputers.net. Thanks you
