My name is Marcia, my dad's name is Don Hadler.
He has three sisters and two brothers. I have a copy of
a family tree that one of my cousin's did in college. My dad's
great grandfather came here from Germany sometime around 1860 and
was married to a Carolyn Olsen in New York. I have been researching
and trying to find out the name of the boat they sailed over here on.

I am living in Minneapolis. Maybe you and I can help each other.

HI! I just found your message on the Hadler board at I've been interested in Hadlers in Minnesota, since I moved to northern Iowa in 1999. Before that, I had lived most of my life in Illinois, where my Hadler relatives all live, and where Hadler is an uncommon name. I was surprised to find it a fairly common name in Minnesota. Indeed, most Iowans assumed I had family in Minnesota, because of my name. I even did a wedding (I'm a pastor), for the granddaughter of some parishioners--she married a nice young man named Hadler!!

Since then, I've been curious as to whether there is a connection between my Hadler family in Champaign, Co, IL and those in Minnesota. I've returned to Illinois, but am still curious.

Have you learned of any migrations between Illinois and Minnesota?

Thanks for any help!

Very late response to your thread, however, I am a Hadler that's family is in MN. I know very few of them due to family circumstances. I was wondering if we could make a connection.
