Received off the internet:
Owen Dailey was born in Ireland about 1675 and immigrated to North Carolina. After the Revolutionary War, his grandson Owen came to north Monroe county around the latter 1770s, married Sarah Elizabeth Rikard. They had many children, among them David Dailey. David married Sarah Abigail and too had many children. Hugh Dailey was their son and married Sarah Griffis. Hugh and Sarah had David Lawrence who married Mary Ann McMurphy. David Lawrence and Mary Ann had Alex Daniel Dailey. Alex Daniel married Leila Burson and had 10 children, including Ila Pearl Dailey. These families lived in north Monroe county and in Wilcox County in the communities of Watson's Crossing, Neenah, and Fatama. I am looking for a Charlie and Emma(Montgomery) Dailey from Beatrice.

Sue,
I also descend from the Daileys of Monroe County, AL.
I will start with what I know: My grandmother was named
Bertha Dailey. She was the daughter of George Dailey and
Mary Johnson. George Dailey was the son of Jerry Dailey
and Emily (Emma) Riley. Jerry was the son of Joseph Dailey
and a woman of color named Sally? (this is based on
family folklore). Joseph Dailey owned a store in
in Beatrice, AL. Back to Bertha, she was buried in the Dailey
cemetery that is in Beatrice, AL. My aunt has told me that
there is also a Owen, Joseph, Alex, as well as other
Daileys. Do any of these names sound familiar? If they do,
please email me for I really think that we have a
connection somewhere among the many children of the
Daileys.

William Dailey(1766-1844) of the Greenville District of South Carolina may have perhaps married a granddaughter of Benjamin Arnold, Sr., possibly a Mary or Melinda Arnold. His children were John Arnold (1797-1871)--- my gggrandfather--- Henry H.(1814-1887), Malinda C., Permelia, Thomas R., Sarah Caroline, and William, Jr.

William's father may have been Alexander(ca1730-ca1780) of Virginia and his grandfather Owen(ca1680-aft1730)of Ireland. It appears that William's siblings included: Owen(1756-1842), John(ca1760-aft1830)and Vines (ca1779-ca1824). Owen married Elizabeth Masterson and John married Rebecca Dowis. No info on any marriage of Vines.

John Arnold Dailey's children were: William Owen, Anne, Franklin O., Emma A., John Arnold, Jr., James Hendrick, Malinda J. (Lynn), Thomas Benjamin, and Sarah L. (Sally).

William Dailey and the Johm Arnold family were residing in 1800 near Fork Shoals in the Greenville District of South Carolina.
Any information on the connection of these two families would be very much appreciated.
