My father, Pascual Cadena, was born on 9/23/1903, in Cambleton, Texas. His father(my grand father) was Juan Cadena and I think he was born around the same area. Juan Cadena was married to Felicita Reyes. Not sure of the spelling of Cambleton. I was born in Three Rivers, TX on 12/19/1939. I am told that we have a lot of relatives in San Antonio, TX. So all you Cadenas, what ever information you may have would be appreciated. I live in Virginia Beach, VA. I retired from the Navy and I am married to Glenda McClendon from Albertville, AL.

See Spanish American Genealogical Association Journal Vol. 1, 1997, pps. 26-43.

The progenitors of the Cadenas of Northeast Mexico and South Texas are Juan De La Garza y De La Cadena and Maria De La Garza y Villarreal. Their son: Gregoria Javier Villarreal Cadena 1725-1792 married (2nd Wife) Lugarda Saiz Serna. Her line can be traced to Ferdinand II of Aragon.
The Cadena's are related to the Marques De La Cadena who relocated to Paris, France in the 1830 via New Orleans, LA.

This reference might have no bearing on our search, but the name Felix or Feliciano Saiz has come up in my searches as a possible relative to the following people that were cousins to my Grandfather, Toribio Loredo , Lino Nava (don't know his full first name )and my grandfather Diego Cadena Loredo, all these families were supposed to have come from and/or around the capital city of San Luiz Potosi Mexico.
If any of this information is common to both of us please relay a message.

Hi, I don't know if you speak spanish, so I'll write in english...

You'll see, my grand father's full name was Edgardo Gonzalez de la Cadena, and he was born at Cordoba, Veracruz, Mx.

I'm very interested in recovering all the information about that part of the family.

Thank you very much
