I don't know whether we can help each other or not, but here goes. James Morgan Bryant, My husband's great grandfather, was born in Quincy, Lewis County, KY about 1844. He married Eliza Jane Robison born in Bledsoe County, TN about 1850-52. Their children were Thomas (my husband's grandfather), possibly Shelby, and David. There were other siblings, but not sure of their names. We can't seem to find out who James Morgan Bryant's parents are. Hope I might have helped you, or you can help me.

My maiden name was Bryant. Working on Bryant Family tree. My great, great, great grandparents were John & Elizabeth Bryant of Adair County, Ky in mid 1700's. GGgrandparents were Alexander & Elizabeth (Allen). Alexander was 3rd child of John & Elizabeth. Ggrandparents were John & Eva (McQueary). Grandparents were Abraham Skillman & Eva (Brumfield) Bryant Sr. I don't have anything further back the John & Elizabeth. Do have quite a bit on siblings of Alexander if they think this is the Bryant's you're looking for.

Does any of your information have a Lettie Bryant
who married a Bill Johnson?? Probably about
the mid to late 1800's. My mother's father was
William Johnson (b. 01-01-1888) ... son of Bill Johnson and Lettie
Bryant -- his other siblings were Andrew, Elisha, Mandy,
Lorraine, Mary, and Dulsena (according to our
family bible).

Am searching for Bryants orig. from Va. according to National Archives 1880 Census, roll T.9. Oral history states that family from Vir. and settled in Mississippi by following waterways. What that path included I do no know. Hoever, they migrated to lower Louisiana and up into Ms.
I show Orange (b.1829 d. ?) married Morning Bryant (shows age34 on this census).
Shows a John Ransom Bryant (born.1835 D. 8/28/1909) part choctaw. His son was William Ebenezer Bryant. (B. May 19, 1853 D.Oct. 24, 1921) married Omega Smith Bryant in the home of their grandparents (shows on the marriage certificate). Go to the county court house of the area that you are searching and find mucho licenses. They go back further than the archives which began 1790) Also ask for law suits against your family. I found enough to make up a soap box opera.
I am going to crack this nut and find our family. Keep me abreast and I will share with you.

Possible cousin,
Mrs. Carol Bryant Acox
