I was a Broadbooks by birth. Could you tell me a little more and maybe I can help you. I was raised in Kansas. I have quite a bit of information on Broadbooks if you would like to share your information you have I'll see if I can fill in some gaps.

Vicki,
Thanks for the reply. My name is Lee Thompson. My mother is Evangeline (Eva) Lousia Broadbooks. She was born in 1899.

Her father's name is Henry Broadbooks who was born on April 13, 1836 and died December 8, 1905.

Henry married Barbara Newinger in 1850 and they went to Nebraska in 1875. She died and he married her sister, Louisia in 1879.

Henry had 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

He had 2 boys
1. Edwin
2. Albert

The Broadbooks came over from Germany. Some of them went to Nebraska, later to Oklahoma, and then later on into McPherson, Kansas.

Does this fit into any information that you have? Let me know if anything matches or not. Thanks.

I wrote to you thru this program months ago, but was looking over some "stuff" and came across Henry and his children of Edwin, Albert, Lydia, Caroline and Emma. My gt.gt. grandfather was a Henry but don't know if same one. Don't think so.

Do you know who Henry's father and mother were? I have Jacob Broadbooks and Elizabeth Broadbooks but don't think this is correct. Jacob was born in 1811, November and died July 16,1883.

I have also been tracking down Silvanus Broadbrooks and Meribah (Chase) Ellis m. 30 October 1970 (VR Harwich 281).

It appears they may have had 2 illegitimate children before they were married (Rebecca Chase b. 22 March 1787 and Susannah Chase b. 12 August 1784) but certainly they had:
Benjamin Broadbrooks 12 September 1790 (VR Harwich 289)
Patiane Broadbrooks 23 March 1794 (VR Harwich 281)
Salley B. Broadbrooks 6 October 1798 (VR Harwich 281)

Do you happen to know if Silvanus/Sylvanus Broadbrooks was the son of Ebenezer also of Harwich? Or if he hails from somewhere else?

Thanks.

In reply to this message, I don't know as I haven't heard of their names in the Broadbooks family. Were they born in France/Germany? The date of birth suggests to me that they might have born around the time of Jacob Breitenbucher (Broadbooks) who was born October 1779. I also noticed that you have Silvanus married 1970. Do you mean 1770 or 1870? Where do you live. The Broadbooks name I come from was from Kansas (central). There were a lot of them at one time but the old timers have gone to a better place. Talk later I hope.
