Family Tree

Ok, here goes my father was Felix Barela and Mother was Concha Medina - they lived in Las Cruses New Mexico where I was born along with my brothers and sisters. The purpose of this message is to try to put together a family tree. We won't leave the ugly cousin or drunk aunt off the tree. The wayward brother or even the inlaws (well, maybe some). But if you are related and wants to add the information you have, no blood test is required just the usual family fee charged by the I.R.S., all funds obtained will be used to bail out cousin Jimmy (if there is a cousin Jimmy out there sorry). Anyways let's see what we can come up with. Does anyone have any information on the two Barela killed during the Civil war or the Vietnam War. Please contact me.

The Barela's from las cruses, New Mexico are all pretty much related. My father's name was Felix Barela, his brothers were Benny Barela and I think he had other brothers as well. He married my mom Concha Medina and all together they had p children not counting the four from my father's former marriage. his first wife died. My half brothers/sisters from that marriage were Augustine, luis, Concha and Piedad. My brothers and isiters are Ernest, Robert, felix, Isabel, Maggie, Minga, Lucy, Manuel and my self Refujio and that I think makes up half the state of New Mexico. Guess there are a lot of us out there. Think we may need a large computer to put the family tree together.

I go by Cook from Cucu which is short for Refujio, named after an uncle on my mother's side. Both parents are deceased.

Regarding Felix Barela -- do you know his father's name? I have some Barelas (and supposedly one Varela) in my family tree. Maybe there's a connection?

I am also a Barela through my mother's side. I have had the most difficult time gaining information on the Barela Family Tree. My grandparents were Eduardo Henriqueta Barela of Las Cruces, NM. They moved to California somewhere in the 40's or 50's. Does anyone have any possible ties to this family?
