My name is Al Allenback (family emigrated to USA circa 1880, bros. Albert Augustus and John). I'm an Air Force colonel (base commander, Maxwell AFB, Montgomery, AL). I recently visited the village of "Allenbach", about 35 km NW of Ramstein, GE. Copied info from church walls, hisroty back to 1245. No one I spoke to spoke English, but they reall liked my business card! I would be happy to send interested persons the English translation of my on the spot research! -Al

Col. Allenback, I would indeed like to see a copy of the Allenbach history you have. I would like to see that business card too! I still have Allenbach relatives in Alabama and as far as I know am the only one researching the family name. I will send you my mailing address. Thank you very much.

Hi Al,

Hope your email address is still the same. I would appreciate anything you can send me on the village of Allenbach. Our ancestor left Germany about 1754. Believe this is possibly the original spelling of our name. His name was changed to Allumbaugh at end of Rev. War. Thanks, Donna J. Alumbaugh..email me at max@alumbaugh.com.

My father's name is Gunnar Allenback, born in Denmark, note that
he spelled his name as you do. I am trying to find information about
my family tree and wonder what you know about yours.
