Do you have any info on Thomas Busby who had a daughter named Sarah Jane Busby in the 1800s in St. Croix and info about the family?

Hope that you have not stopped looking for persons with the surname CLENDINEN. Just today when reviewing xeroxed pages (made in 1994) of LIGHTBOURN'S ANNUAL and COMMERCIAL DIRECTORY of the Virgin Islands of the United States (1900 & 1918), there I found the names with listed businesses of 3 persons with variations of the CLENDINEN surname.

Published in 1900 were: W. Clindinen - Hardware

J.A. Clindenin - Goldsmith

Published in 1918 was: C.E. Clendinen - Tavern Keeper

Notice different spellings of surname.

Hope that this is helpful information.

Just way your post.
My uncle was Alphonse Siebenhoven, his father was Gregory, who was a Tailor, and it is said he was an illigitimate child, so he could not carry the Von.
Al's brother was Gustave and sister, Edith.
Gustave carried the Von

There is an expert on St.Thomas Clindenins. He spoke at one of the recent conferences at Landmarks in St.Croix, and brought an exhibit with photos of ancestors and homes. You can find him by contacting Carol Wakefield at STX Landmarks

Ann, thanks for the confirmation. Gustave von Siebenhoven was my great-grandfather, he died in 1987. His wife Imogene von Siebenhoven passed away on February 4, 2000. His daughter Vera Spillers, says she thought his father's name was Gustaff. As she recalls his nefew never addressed him by any other name. She is confused by the Gregory. But he was a tailor in St. Croix and had a daughter named Edith. Do Alphonse's descendants live in Hempstead, NY? My aunt recalls someone named perhaps Peter, who was homosexual and worked in computers. And also someone named Pauline. Let me know.

One of their sons Michael studied computers in the Air Force after having worked as a janitor. The company changed its mind.

After proving himself in the Air Force and in the private sector he was hired by Burroughs as a salesman. After twenty years of steadily greater responsibility with various firms he became President of first Oracle Software one of Americas top ten software companies then his own company OpenVision which was merged with Veritas. He now owns a consulting firm Fields Group in Pleasanton, Cal. owns part of a venture capital firm and sits on the board of several corporations and nonprofits. Other members of the family inspired by his success have gone into the computer field since the sixties.
