Hello, saw your query on Eason of Fayette Co., GA. In response to your question re: an 'older' Abraham Eason, it would seem that there was an Abraham, Sr. and an Abraham, Jr. The 1790 South Carolina Census lists only one Eason,
Abraham, in the Orangeburg Dist. His household included three free white males 16+ and 2 free white females. The
1800 SC Census index lists four Easons: James,in Pen.Dist.,
and the other three in Orangeburg Dist.: Abraham, George, and William. I believe Abraham was the father of my GGG-Grandfather, Thomas Eason,Sr., who married Patsy Welch in Morgan County, GA in 1812.Maybe Thomas and Rice were

Just enter Eason, or whatever name you're researching and check out the postings. It's been the best source for me.

Brett, does your Eason family line include Moses Stamps? I would like to add info to my STAMPS and EASON family tree. My ggg grandmother Sarah Stamps married Gilbert Gay. Sarah was a daughter of Moses Stamps and Polly Eason. I believe some are buried at the Indian Creek Baptist Church Cemetery near Bowden, GA. Allied family lines include Skinner families, some of whom are also buried at Indian Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Would also like to add to Skinner family info. These families lived in Carroll and Coweta counties in GA,(parts of which were formerly Fayette County, GA) and some were in nearby Cleburne and Randolph counties in AL. Other family lines include McElroy, Jones, Teal Any of these names in your family tree? Here is a link to my home page. I don't have much entered on Stamps or Eason yet, as still researching those lines.

Hi Cindy,

I just "discovered" your 12 January message. Unfortunately, I cannot help with your "elusive" Jones family.

However, of possible interest to you, I have spent upwards of twenty years attempting to sort out all the Bridges, May, Moses, North, Jennings and Westmoreland folks in Fayette and Coweta Counties. Although my descent is through the May, Moses, Jennings and Westmoreland lines noted above, there are so many marriages with the Bridges, Norths and Gays that I found it necessary over the years to understand their interrelationships as well.

For example, Solomon T. Bridges married Serena A. May, a daughter of my g-g-g-grandfather Drury May, of Fayette County. James E. May, another of Drury's sons, married Mary Bridges, Solomon's sister. Another brother, Ancel Bridges, married Hulda Westmoreland, another of my kin, and Thomas W. Bridges, another brother, married Elizabeth Moses, a step-kin. As you can see, they are a "close-knit" family!

These particular Bridges siblings, I believe, are all children born to Wiley Jones Bridges, an early Coweta County pioneer. Another of his children, Martha Bridges, as you noted in your query, married Thomas Bolling May. Also, several later Bridges folks married other of my kin in May, Moses and Jennings lines.

I would be delighted to share information.

Do you have any more information on Rice Eason or Abraham Eason of Fayette County? I think that Abraham Eason Sr was Rices father but Rice had many children, one of which was James who was my gggrandfather. James had served in the Civil War for the Confederacy. Any information is appreciated.

Looking over all of your postings we seem to be researching the same families and they are: Stamps, Eason and Gay. I have related lines connected to these families in GA.
