Have you found any additional information on your Zipfel's? I have Zipfel's from Altenburg, Saxony, that are intermarried with FICKLER's from Magersdorf, Saxony, and Philip LEINEBERGER family of Bavaria, they had to have been connected to each other prior to coming here to USA in the 1850's, because one of our Zipfel's died on his immigrant ship (1870) and was related to the Lienbergers who were already over here. Somehow some of our Zipfel's also are connected in Germany with GROBER, WIECHMANN, and LOEFFLER families, our direct line from Hannover, and Mecklenburg, but yet also some similar name similarities to those lines also in Bavaria/Baden. Interestingly, besides the name similarites, also some similar circumstances and NY locations between both the Baden and Bavarian Zipfel lines listed by other researchers(see other boards); but no one has so far been able to verify a connection between those lines, and nothing EXACTLY matches, very strange. All that to say that the Bavaria/Baden poss link is not out of the question.

However, Saxony ones should be related with each other. My g-gr father was Gottlieb Zipfel. Where in New York did John Weiss live? My email is; I would be interested in your information; you can write there with more information. I would be interested to hear from you; especially since yours lived in SF; I live near SF; have also seen in SF, LOEFFLER AND WIECHMANN's, as well, but haven't yet checked on their SF information yet.

I look forward to hearing from you! Pam
