Jan Zdankiewicz was born 1871 in Russian Poland. He married Anna Borodziak around 1900. They immigrated in 1902 from Skieblewo, Powiat Augustowski to Plymouth, Penn. (Skieblewo is about 60 miles north of Bialystok.) A few years later, they began farming in Rusk County, Wisc. They died in Chicago.
After many name changes, the family finally settled on Zonavetch. They had 4 sons who survived, Wincenty (William), John Paul, Anthony, and Peter.
