Kenneth Alexander Yancey, 68, died suddenly at 10:30 a.m. yesterday from a heart attack.
Born April 24, 1882 in Augusta County, he was a son of the late Frank and Nannie Campbell Yancey. His wife, Lucy Carter Yancey, preceded him in death June 17, 1948.
He is survived by six sons, Thomas, Pasadena, Md.; Howard, Thurston, Preston, Lewis and John F., all of Waynesboro; one daughter, Mrs. Juanita Schnepf, Sherando; one brother, John F. Waynesboro; one half-sister, Mrs. Nettie Carter, Sherando; and eight grandchildren.
Body will remain at the Etter Funeral Home until the hour of service, 2 p.m. Sunday, when it will be taken to the Church of God, Winchester avenue where the services will be conducted by the Rev. Scott C. Hutton, assisted by the Rev. Wilton E. Allen. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be: Glenwood Balsley, Clyde Carter, Thomas Fitzgerald, Lee Patterson, Donald Meadows, and Fred Carter.
Flowerbearers will be ladies of the Church of God.
