HARRISON YANCEY, son of Thomas & Mary Owens Yancey, was born July 29, 1888, in Cedar Co., Mo., near Friendship. And departed this life August 24, in the Humansville Hospital, being at the time of his death 85 years and 25 days of age. On April 26, 1928, he was united in marriage to Virgie Turner. They spent 27 happy years on a farm south & east of Stockton after which they moved to Stockton where he spent the remainder of his life. On August 13, Harrison suffered a stroke at his home & was later taken to the hospital. Where all was done by loving hands & medical help possible for his comfort & recovery. After 11 days in the hospital all efforts failed & Harrison was called to his eternal reward. Before being transferred to the hospital he commented to loved ones, he wasn't afraid of death, and was ready to go. Harrison was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers & 6 sisters. He is survived by a loving wife, Virgie, several nieces & nephews, cousins, brother-in-laws & sister-in-laws and a host of neighbors & friends. A Precious one from us is gone, A Voice, we loved is still, A place is vacant in our home, Which never can be filled. Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Brumback Chapel with Elder Clyde Bough officiating. Burial was in the Stockton city Cemetery.
