LEXINGTON KENTUCKY — Robert E. “Rob” Yancey III, 48, loving husband of Faith Howard Yancey, passed away Monday, Jan 9, 2012.
Born in Ashland, he was the son of Nina McGee Yancey and the late Robert E. Yancey Jr.
Rob was a graduate of Vanderbilt University with a BS degree in biology, and was in the process of completing his MBA at Eastern Kentucky University. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church Andover Campus.
Survivors, besides his wife and mother, include his daughter, Abigail Faith Yancey; two sisters, Yvonne (Jay) Yancey Zavada of Windermere, Fla., and Elizabeth (Scott) Yancey Humphrey of Winchester; his brother-in-law, John (Julie) Perry; five nieces; and four nephews.
Rob was an avid gardener who adored his family, loved to cook and spent as much time as he could with family in Hilton Head.
The funeral will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Harrodsburg Road in Lexington. Burial will be in Lexington Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
