He does not mention a wife. When the will was filed, it mentioned widow, Margaret and nine children to wit, Benjamin, Patsy Denny, Nancy, Kelly, Birdwell, Blackwell, Linny Yancy, Richard A. Stegall, Susan Williams and two children deceased, Hensly and Spencer Stegall. Spencer Stegall died leaving a widow Sarah Stegall and seven children to wit: Hensly, William, Robert, Peter, Elizabeth and two other names unknown. Richard Stegall, Senr. was helpless about 11 years before his death and could not walk.
