"An act for teh relief of Mary C Yancey
Whereas it is represented to the present lsegislative council the territory of Michigan,
that Smith H Yancey has abandoned his wife, Mary C. Yancey, for several years past, during
which time she has no knowledge or information relative to him, the said Yancey, therefore
Be in enacted by the Legislative Council of the Territory of Michigan, that the bonds and
obligations of matrimony solemized and existing between the said Smith H Yancey
and Mary C. Yancey, be and the same are hereby dissolved and the said
Mary C. Yancey forever discharged thereform: Provided that nothing in this act shall be
so construed as to release and discharge the said Smith H Yancey from any of the pains
and penalties which by law he may be liable to.
