Funeral services for Bobby Lee Yancey, 80, of Muldrow were held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Mallory Chapel in Sallisaw with the Rev. Thomas Still officiating.

Burial was in the Cottonwood Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw.

Mr. Yancey was born on Aug. 20, 1929, in Leavy, Ark., to Robert and Minnie (Tedford) Yancey. He died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, in Fort Smith, Ark.

Mr. Yancey served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War and enjoyed country music.

Survivors include, one step-daughter, Alene Walkup of Muldrow; one step-son, Leo Mathis of Muldrow; four step-grandchildren, Ronnie and Eran Mathis and Randy Walkup, all of Muldrow, and Sherri and Shawn Gard and Todd Holt, all of Gans; three sisters, Ruby Suviaz of Bald Knob, Ark., Christine Morris of Dierks, Ark., and Betty Coffman of Judsonia, Ark.; and five brothers, Charles Yancey of Vian, Bill Yancey of Judsonia, Thomas Yancey of Haines City, Fla., Paul Yancey of DeQueen, Ark., and Larry Yancey of Bald Knob.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Anna Mae, in 1981, a step-daughter, Callie Holt, a step-grandson, Greg Holt, three brothers, Jimmy Yancey, John Henry and Junior Yancey, and longtime companion, Geraldine Stimson.

Pallbearers were, Ronnie Mathis, Cody Mathis, Todd Holt, Joshua McCleod, Jacob McCleod, Nick Gard and Randy Walkup.
