Charles D. Yancey died Sun Morning in the hospital of Cape Giradeau, Mo. He took sick at Doniphan and was taken to the home of his daughter - Mrs. Allen Hinchey at Cape Girardeau. The body was taken to Piedmont for burial. C. D. Yancey was one of the best lawyers in this part of the state. In 1882 he was elected State Senator from this district. About 20 years ago his son Charles - a school boy was killed by a train at Piedmont. He had been a widower for several years. Survived by one daughter, Mrs. Allen Hinchey of Cape Girardeau; Mrs. Sullivan of Greenville is a sister, and Mrs. J. H. Taylor is a niece.
