Born in Buffalo Junction, VA, Mr. Yancey relocated with his family to Clarksville at an early age. He later moved to Norfolk, VA where he worked at the Norfolk shipyard. There he also met and married Ruby Helderman. He and Ruby later returned to Clarksville where he and his brother, Herbert owned and operated the Sinclair Service Station and a local cab service. In addition, Mr. Yancey was a farmer and bought and sold real estate. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at Oakhurst Cemetery. Watkins Copper Lyon is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive visitors at the Yancey residence, 180 Buffalo Road.
