Yancey, Leroy "Bobby"
DETROIT, Mich. - Mr. Leroy "Bobby" Yancey, of 19650 Healy St., Detroit, Mich., died Monday at Crittendon Hospital in Detroit, Mich.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 21, 11 a.m., at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, Reidsville, with the Rev. Preston Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Reidsville. Family visitation will be Monday, 10:30-11 a.m., prior to the service.
Bobby received his education from the public schools of Rockingham County. In 2006, he retired from Ford Motor Company after 31 years of service.
Survivors include wife, Gladys Burgess Yancey of the home; son, James "Roy" Yancey (Shawntai) of Clarksville, Tenn.; stepson, Johnny James Jr. of Detroit, Mich.; grandchildren, Shannon Latoya Yancey, Darmarkist Yancey, Preshish Yancey, Lailah Yancey, Jasmine Ervin, Jasmine James and Johnny James III; in-laws; Joseph and Rosa Lee Armstrong of Detroit, Mich.; brother-in-Law, Mark Barnett of Detroit, Mich.; special aunt, Annie Yancey Gwynn of Reidsville; aunt, Mary Yancey of Cleveland, Ohio; special cousins, Samuel A. Gwynn and Charlene Blackwell, both of Reidsville; aunts, uncles and many other relatives and friends.
