Genealogy research indicates possible autoimmune gene

Surnames: Wegandt, Wyant, Reinhardt
AS part of my research of my Wyant line there appears to be a dominant gene passed down making descendants vulnerable for developing autoimmune diseases including Rhumatoid Arthrits, Polymylgia Rheumatica, MS, Lupus, and Hayshimoto (thyroid), Graves (etc). This is in the family of the descendants of David Wyant and Barbara Reinhardt born about1753 or so.
David and Barbara were born in or near Weisenburg Township Northampton now Lihigh Pennsylvania. They then moved to Penn Township, then Fairfield Ohio. Descendants later moved to Seneca and Hancock counties Ohio by the mid 1800s. I do not have the Wyant line traced before David and I do not know if the gene came from the Wyant line or the Reinhardt line.

The gene may be dominant meaning half of the descendants will develop an autoimmune disease. Please respond if you think you may be related to this line or have information. I am trying to get help for our family. sperong@aol.com
