Velda M. Woods
Velda Mae Fulk Schrader Hein Woods, 94, of Angwin, Calif., died on May 11 at St. Helena Hospital in St. Helena, Calif.
She was born on Sept. 22, 1907, in Atlanta, Neb., to Byron and Bertha (Pritchard) Fulk.
She graduated from high school in 1925 and then attended college, receiving her nursing degree in 1930.
She married Wesley A. Schrader in 1936, Harry Hein in 1974 and Dr. Carl Cecil Woods in 1984.
She was a nurse at Memorial Hospital and was active in the operation of the Schrader Funeral Home as a co-owner and funeral director assistant. Following the death of her husband, Wesley Schrader in 1960, she made her home in Portland, Ore., where she was director of admissions at Portland Adventist Hospital until retiring in 1971. She then made her home in the Angwin area.
She was a member of Cheyenne Women's Club, Order of Eastern Star, Pythian Sisters and very active in Girl Scouts.
She is survived by a stepson, Marvin Schrader of Cheyenne; a daughter, Maralyn Wileman of Dinuba, Calif.; three stepdaughters, Mildred Hunter, Beverly Ann Moody and Lois Marie Hurst; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Wesley Schrader, Harry Hein and Dr. Cecil Woods; her parents; brotehrs, Dothan and Delwin Fulk; and two sisters, Ora David and Fern Christensen.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Schrader Chapel with Pastor John Martin officiating.
Burial will be at Beth El Cemetery.
