According to her death certificate, Catherine Wenban (Munro) was born in Edinburgh.
She had been in NSW for approximately 44 years and was 17 when she married William Wenban.
I joined the Scotland's People site in the hope of finding her birth details. There are a few Catherine Munro's born and several George Munro's as father of female children, but cannot find the names together in a time frame of a few years either side of 1834. I have checked Scotland wide as well as Edinburgh in particular. I searched shipping and immigration as far as I was able and tho a few Munro's popped up, I found nothing definate.I have come to the conclusion that the birth may not have been recorded, or perhaps Catherine only became Catherine after her mother's death and was possibly given a different name at birth. There are a few George and Catherine Munro parents in the right time frame, but daughters are not named Catherine at birth. The other possibility was that she may not have been born in 1834.
I have used up all my credits, haha, going round in circles. Hopefully, someone with more experience and better research skills etc can solve the puzzle.
